| Youth Programs Annual Festivals and Events
We serve about 10,000 people annually, with classes, programs, and events at our community center located at 45 Danforth St., Jamaica Plain, MA. We have 300 paid members, many of whom volunteer regularly at our center and our annual festivals.
Cultural programming is the essence of what we do at Spontaneous Celebrations to create and sustain a vibrant community cultural life. We believe that community-based arts and education provide a context for sharing and developing cultural traditions.
Our youth programs and seasonal celebrations encourage creativity, deepen understanding, and promote appreciation of the differences among people and between cultures. Through our cultural programming, we unite youth and adults, gain a sense of belonging, place, and community, and experience the thrill of shared commitment, wonder, and fun.
Our youth programs are sliding scale and our outdoor festivals are free and open to all.
The outdoor festivals are run largely by volunteers. Many workshops and other cultural events are also free or low cost. We keep administration to a minimum and emphasize community involvement.
We places great value
on the role of youth in our community and is now serving young people
through the Beantown Society. We are also providing
festival arts instruction (stilt walking and drumming)
at the Curley and Manning After School programs and media
arts instruction at the Curley After School program. Finally
for the youngest, we have toddler drumming classes. [click

Our Annual Festivals involve hundreds of dedicated members, volunteers, local artists, and schools. Festivals and seasonal celebrations provide an opportunity for community members to learn, have fun, create, contribute, and be recognized for what they have done. Discover why our festivals attract thousands from neighborhoods throughout Boston and beyond!
